J Gonzalez-Blitz

J. Gonzalez-Blitz is a traditional and comic artist & musician Born in Hell's Kitchen in the 70s she considers the energy of the real city as much a part of her creative inspiration as her other perceptions of reality may be. She has participated in art shows at now ghostly places like Art on A, Max Fish, CBs 313 Gallery and ABC No Rio, and has had comics and illustrations published in the Eisner- winning Drawing Power, Feral House, Tales From La Vida, and as a recurring contributor to World War 3 Illustrated. Most recently she has painted murals on the CHARAS building downtown and been involved with the effort to restore it as a center for the people. She has also worked with musicians as varied as those from the downtown punk and noise scenes to singing in a choir for Ed Atkins performance at Performa 19 and with avant garde jazz musicians Karl Berger and Ingrid Sertso.
